Heaven’s Euphoria

Stan and Jeff find themselves in an alley outside a club in Los Angeles 2016. Deciding to get a drink and relax while waiting for the TARDIS to power up, they discover the lineup heading into the club (called “Heaven”), is full of young clubbers in a sort of trance, not paying any attention to anything and slightly swaying to the sound of the throbbing music coming from within. Jeff asks the bouncer for the time, and before they can leave the area, the bouncer suddenly says that Stan and Jeff are allowed to enter the club ahead of the line. Curious, they do. The club is full of clubbers dancing to the techno-music and all in the same sort of trance as those in the lineup. Jeff and Stan have a drink and decide to look around. They discover a set of stairs leading up to a room with tinted glass windows. A bouncer prevents them from going up no matter what Stan tries. Jeff soon finds he can’t help but dance to the music and Stan notices Jeff is in the same trance as the others. The bouncer then gives Stan two VIP passes to the club for the following night where they can meet the club owner. Jeff comes out of his trance, and he and Stan purchase one of the DJs CDs (“Heaven’s Euphoria” by Gabriel). Back in the TARDIS, Stan does some tests on the CD, suspecting the music has some sort of hypnotic qualities, but he finds nothing. A man is spotted outside the TARDIS, and Stan goes out and confronts him. He is a PI named Davis and he accuses Stan and Jeff of dealing HE (Heaven’s Euphoria, a new clubbing drug). Stan convinces Davis he is not dealing by inviting him into the TARDIS and telling him he also wishes to discover what is going on. The next night, Stan and Jeff enter the club and are brought to the main office where they meet Jude, the man who runs the club. He says his benefactor knows Stan and Jeff and will be coming to meet them. Stan asks questions and Jude explains that he and his brother Garbriel, the DJ, just want the youth of LA to give up violence and sex for peace and tranquility which is why they run the club. It appears Jude and Gabriel think they are angels and they believe their benefactor is God himself. They were unsure of themselves for a while, but God showed up and told them the truth, showing them the way with his guiding light. God shows up, and proves to be Hunter, the mysterious leader of the military group Jeff was a part of when he met Stan. Hunter is actually a very powerful vampire and has obviously brainwashed Jude and Gabriel. Davis causes a distraction at the main doors, and Stan immobilizes Hunter by turning everything in the DJs booth to 10. Regrouping at the TARDIS, Stan calibrates his sonic screwdriver to emit the same frequency as the white noise he created in the DJs booth and they return to put an end to Hunter’s machinations. They find the stash of HE and destroy it, but Hunter and Jude confront them. Jeff taunts Hunter who shows his true nature. This breaks his hold on Jude who tackles him into the portal that leads back to Jude and Gabriel’s home dimension. Gabriel soon follows. Stan and Jeff search Hunter’s office and find his time-travelling space ship in the shape of a metal coffin. Jude returns and says he has trapped Hunter in his dimension and will clean up everything at the club. He is very disheartened but is happy that Gabriel’s CD will still sell here; without the effects of HE, it will simply cause those who listen to it to feel peaceful at heart. Stan and Jeff leave.
