"The Moons Of Marinus" (4 episodes)

Stan hears that there is trouble on Alpha, one of the planet Marinus' moons in the year 2620. The Entropy Cult, a group he has run into in the past, are terrorizing the lucanol mining colony there. Stan decides to investigate, and upon arrival is mistaken for an investigative team by the leader of the preliminary Adjudicator Task Force, Junior Provost Markham. After searching the immediate area, the underground base of the Cult is found, and Stan, Natasha, Roman and two Adjudicators go to investigate. The underground tunnel system is indeed the Cult's base, but they were expecting the group and the Adjudicators are killed, and Roman is seriously wounded. Stan is captured. Natasha keeps Roman alive long enough for Tuck to send a rescue mission. Back in the TARDIS, Natasha and Tuck watch Roman regenerate into an alien child. Meanwhile, Stan meets his old enemy, Medicant Sarm, leader of the Entropy Cult. Sarm explains to Stan that there is a Voordian Artifact called the Idol of Terel that can instigate the beginnings of the new universe that the Entropy Cult has been seeking all these years. He does not recognize Stan from their past encounter as Stan's appearance has changed, and so he believes he can convince Stan (or Alfred as he calls him) to join the Cult. Stan agrees and goes after the Idol down a path of malfunctional and disfunctional traps. When Stan gets to the Idol, he is greeted by a second group who wants to create a new universe. It is a group of Voord lead by Martaal, and they are teamed up with Magnus! This Magnus is not a very nice chap. It appears that the Idol is slightly out of phase and only someone sensitive to time, such as Stan, may retrieve it. Magnus tries to get Stan to take the Idol by telling Stan of his future adventures (one where he defeats Davros, another where he meets another Magnus and yet a third where he kills the Son of Salyavin) and tells Stan that none of them matter in this universe; that all his adventures are pointless, and that Stan can only truly make a difference in a universe of Magnus' creation. It is unclear whether Magnus is telling the truth, or simply trying to convince Stan to join him in his new universe. Natasha, Tuck and Roman appear through a transmat cubicle and a brawl ensues. Roman is killed by Martaal, and Natasha destroys the Idol. The group escapes through the transmat which has been damaged and they end up in a bright desert, surrounded by spearmen...
