Construct (6 episodes)
A temporal distortion sweeps through the TARDIS, knocking Stan unconscious. He comes to and discovers that something terrible has happened on Earth, and it is causing time to alter. This is confirmed when his companions come to check on him. Natasha is there, but so are Ernest and Carabas! Stan knows that Ernest and Carabas are both dead, but his companions seem to believe that all is well. None of them have even heard of Lee Liu, Roman or any of the others. Stan realizes he must travel to Earth to stop whatever has caused this crack in time.
The source of the distortion is at it's strongest on Earth in the year 3290 AD. A quick scan shows that Earth is not like Stan remembers it from that era. There are no land masses, only floating biospheres. Stan also discovers that there is a life force phasing in and out of the space-time continuum somewhere on the TARDIS. He gets a quick glimpse of the life force; Lee Liu!
Stan lands the TARDIS (which has once again taken the shape of a magician's cabinet) on one of the biospheres, discovering it to be a giant restaurant. Stan rigs together a makeshift 'temporal distortion tracker thingy' and the group proceeds to have drinks and think things through. They meet a young girl who seems to think the world they are in is not the real one. They also meet a short man called McGivern who has been stuck in this restaurant for three-hundred and forty seven days. He says it is an endless loop, and he's been waiting for a time-sensitive to show up and get him out of this hell. The little girl reappears and points out that a giant fireball is about to destroy the restaurant. The group tries to flee, but the door to the TARDIS won't open. The fireball destroys the restaurant...
...And the group find themselves in the mud at an archeological dig in Montana in the year 2190 AD. There they meet Professor Bernice Summerfield who has discovered an ancient alien artifact buried in the earth. Stan tells Benny about the temporal distortion and she shows them the artifact. The artifact seems to be giving off the same type of energy. Using his device, and Benny's guess as to how long ago the artifact crashed onto Earth, Stan calculates where to find the artifact and stop it. A shadowy image of Lee Liu appears in front of the artifact. Natasha tries to grab him, but she disappears. The group all touch the ghost image and vanish, leaving McGivern behind with Benny.
Stan and company arrive in the middle of the American revolution. There is a battle raging between American Indians and the British. The group barely manages to escape unharmed. In the forest nearby, Carabas saves a man from being shot by one of the Indians. The Indian turns out to be a cyborg! The man is actually a Time Lord Intervention Agent named Renard. Renard tells Stan he has also been looking for the artifact (or Construct as he calls it). He invites the group back to his TARDIS so that they may find it together. Using Stan's coordinates, Renard starts his TARDIS, but it's Stan and company that fades away to Renard's cry : "No! I was so close!"
The group materializes on the deck of a pirate ship manned by cyclops bucaneers. They are taken prisoner where they meet another Time Lord named Larek Aurian (nicknamed Book). Book says he works for the Borusa Syndicate, a group dedicated to thwarting the Celestial Intervention Agency (now known simply as Intervention or I-Branch). Book says the Borusa Syndicate wishes to destroy the Construct before I-Branch can get their hands on it. Using their vast experitise of escaping prisons, the group breaks out of the hold and heads to the deck where Book says his TARDIS is. They get to the deck and get into a scuffle with the one-eyed pirates. In the melee, Stan discovers his tracking device is missing. Book apologizes to Stan saying it's for the good of Gallifrey, and steps between air molecules and into his TARDIS, disappearing. The group is about to be butchered by the myopic pirates when the temporal distortion carries them all away again.
They find themselves at the events leading up to the crucifixion of Christ. The Roman Centurians however are giant robots. Even with such changes already evident Stan decides not to get involved in changing history. They notice a tall black woman wearing anachronistic clothing, and follow her to Golgotha where Jesus and two others are being crucified. One of the others is Renard! The woman recognizes Natasha and Ernest and reveals herself to be Marie, the type 103 TARDIS. Homonuclette appears out of Marie and taunts Renard ('an old school interventionalist'). Homonculette reveals to Stan that he knows where to stop the Construct, but he enjoys a good crucifixion. Stan explains that a Time Lord named Book stole Stan's tracking device and was on his way to the Construct. This gets Homonculette's attention and they all speed off in Marie.
They arrive in Montana in the year 3167 BC. Book stand before the Construct with Stan's device. Homonculette attacks Book but is repelled by a force field. Carabas throws a force grenade and the explosion knocks everyone down, including Book, who drops the device. Stan and Book grab the device at the same time. Natasha and Ernest grab Book. Homonculette points a staser at all of them. Carabas points his laser rifle at Homonculette. Book says that if Homonculette gets the Construct, Earth will be destroyed and a lot of the universe with it. Homonculette says the future of Gallifrey needs the Construct to fight the war with the Enemy. During the standoff, a very substantial Lee Liu appears and begins to walk towards the alien artifact. Ernest disappears and Carabas begins to fade away. Homonculette shoots at Li Liu but misses, Stan grabs Book's laser pistol and shoots Homonculette. Marie grabs Lee Liu but lets him go when Homonculette is shot. She picks the injured Time Lord up and they leave. Stan, Natasha, and Book watch as Lee Liu walks through the force field and opens the Construct. Within are the altered remains of his pipe organ time machine. It asks him if it is time to die. He says yes. The Construct fades away and Stan's TARDIS appears. Paramanthea steps out of the TARDIS asking everyone where they've been. They leave in the TARDIS and time is returned to normal.
